Dabaiba Appoints Ahmed Sebsi to Head the National Support Forces Agency

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, issued Decree No. (341) of 2026, appointing Ahmed Sebsi as head of the National Support Forces Agency, succeeding Ahmed Issa.

According to reports, the decree, issued on July 22, 2026, did not include details regarding the reasons for the change or the date on which the new head would assume his duties, nor did the government issue any additional clarifications regarding the decree.

This appointment comes within the framework of administrative decisions issued by the Government of National Unity to reorganize a number of its affiliated institutions and agencies.

The National Support Forces Agency was established pursuant to Cabinet Decision No. (313) of 2023, issued by Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba. Headquartered in the capital, Tripoli, it is a security and military institution with legal personality and independent financial autonomy, reporting directly to the Cabinet of the Government of National Unity.
