Ambulance service announces rescue of Sudanese family lost in the desert near Kufra for eight days

The head of the Ambulance and Emergency Service in the city of Kufra, Ibrahim Belhassen, announced on Friday evening the rescue of ten individuals who had been lost in the desert for eight days.

Belhassen told the Libyan News Agency that a Sudanese family consisting of women and children was found, as well as two young Libyans (a driver and his assistant).

The rescue operation took place after a large-scale search operation by volunteers and several members of the Subul Al-Salam Brigade.

The missing were found in a state of severe dehydration and psychological trauma and were transferred to Kufra Hospital for treatment after first aid was administered.
