The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival of materials for the implementation of the West Tripoli steam power station project after work on the station was halted almost 10 years ago.

The company said in a statement on Saturday that the materials arrived through Tripoli Sea Port, explaining that the station is being implemented by the Korean company Hyundai.

The station will include four generating units with a capacity of 350 megawatts each.

The statement pointed out that the materials were previously shipped to the company's factories in Korea for re-evaluation and to ensure the efficiency of their performance since work on the project was stopped in 2014.
