The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a delegation of Zintan tribal elders at his office at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi on Sunday.

The General Command stated on its Facebook page that Haftar welcomed the delegation, praising the Zintan tribes’ history of struggle, their honorable nationalist stances, their role in promoting social peace and preserving Libya’s unity, and their support for all national reconciliation initiatives.

The General Command added that the Zintan tribal sheikhs, for their part, expressed their appreciation for the General Command and its role in consolidating security and stability throughout the country, affirming their support for its efforts to protect the homeland and safeguard its resources.
