The Criminal Investigation Department’s Southern Branch announced the discovery of an unidentified body on the outskirts of the city of Sebha, after receiving a report from the Al-Jadid Police Station in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The department explained that a specialized technical team, comprising experts in crime scene investigation, anthropology, forensics, and forensic photography, was dispatched to the scene. A preliminary examination revealed that the victim had sustained more than six stab wounds and that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating that the crime had occurred some time ago.
The agency added that samples were collected and sent to specialized laboratories, and the body was transported to the Sebha Medical Center in preparation for a forensic examination, in accordance with instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Investigations are ongoing to determine the victim’s identity and the circumstances of the incident.
