The Government of National Unity, led by Abdulhamid Dabaiba, signed a cooperation agreement with the “Samsung Innovation Campus” program to launch the Samsung Innovation Camp in Libya, with the aim of training 150 young men and women from various regions of the country in digital skills and artificial intelligence applications.

The signing ceremony took place at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Tripoli, where the agreement was signed by the Minister of State for the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence, Ziad Al-Hajjaji, and the program’s regional director, in the presence of the head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Mana, the president of the University of Tripoli, Khaled Aoun, and a number of officials.

According to a statement published by the government on its Facebook page, the program will run from August 11 to October 6, 2026, and will be conducted virtually through live interactive sessions alongside self-directed learning. It is one of the most prominent global programs implemented by Samsung in 42 countries since 2019.

The government explained that the agreement is part of the efforts by the Office of the Minister of State for the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence to expand partnerships with international institutions and support national capacity-building in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, thereby enhancing the readiness of Libyan youth for the demands of the job market and the economy of the future.

The “Samsung Innovation” Program

The “Samsung Innovation Campus” is a global program focused on equipping young people—particularly those aged 16 to 24—with advanced skills in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data, through hands-on training and career guidance, while providing participation opportunities for marginalized groups, including women and people with disabilities.

The program also offers training in soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, with the aim of preparing participants to enter the job market or launch tech startups, and to contribute to innovation and social impact initiatives.
