The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Government of National Unity announced on Sunday, the start of a training course for 95 employees from various departments and offices of the ministry, who have been assigned to work at diplomatic missions abroad, including the offices in Benghazi, Sebha, Jabal al-Akhdar, Zintan, and Sirte, as part of the 2019 priority list.

The Institute of Diplomatic Studies is organizing the training course, which is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s program to manage the process of assigning personnel to diplomatic missions abroad.

The program aims to ensure that candidates are qualified and prepared in accordance with the requirements of diplomatic work, and to enhance their readiness to carry out their duties efficiently and competently, according to a post by the Ministry on its Facebook page.

Training Program for Personnel Assigned to Work Abroad

The Ministry explained that the training program lasts three days and covers a number of key topics, most notably: “diplomatic protocol and etiquette, the fundamentals of diplomatic work, political report writing, the code of professional conduct, and cybersecurity,” which contribute to developing participants’ skills and enhancing their professional performance.

The Ministry noted that the organization of this course is “the result of constructive coordination and cooperation between the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies,” explaining that the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs played a pivotal role in preparing, organizing, and coordinating this training program to ensure its success, as part of its ongoing support for the Ministry’s efforts to develop and train its human resources.

The Ministry added that the training course is being held at the Criminal Research and Training Center affiliated with the Office of the Attorney General, in cooperation with the Institute of Diplomatic Studies, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and integration among state institutions in supporting training and capacity-building programs.

Another Training Course for Personnel Assigned to Work Abroad

The Ministry noted that another training course will be organized for the remaining personnel on the 2019 priority list following the conclusion of this course, as part of the Ministry’s plan to prepare all candidates for work in diplomatic missions abroad, in accordance with a standardized training program that ensures the highest levels of competence and readiness.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed its commitment to investing in human resources and preparing qualified diplomatic personnel capable of representing the Libyan state with competence and distinction in various international missions and forums.
