The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, said that unifying the military is a national priority that cannot be delayed, as it is the cornerstone for building a unified national army capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties to protect the homeland, safeguard its sovereignty, secure its borders, and maintain the security of citizens and the stability of the state.
This came during Menfi’s meeting with the acting Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, on Monday at the Presidential Council’s headquarters, according to a statement from the council.
Comprehensive Military Briefing
During the meeting, Al-Namroush provided Menfi with a comprehensive military briefing on the outcomes of the military meeting held in Sirte on Sunday.
He reviewed the conclusions reached and the practical steps aimed at unifying the military institution on national and professional grounds, in accordance with the strategic vision led by the Presidential Council.
