The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Sunday, that work is continuing on the completion of the West Tripoli–Al-Taba 400 kV power transmission line project as part of the plan to develop the transmission network infrastructure.

The ongoing work included pouring the concrete foundations for two power transmission towers located along the project route in the Sabia area, which connects the West Tripoli and Al-Taba stations, according to a brief statement issued by the company.

The company stated that the work, which is being carried out by Al-Sahl Electrical Construction Company under the supervision and monitoring of the General Directorate of Transmission Projects, is still ongoing and “progressing at a good pace” in a number of areas, which will contribute to the transmission of power generated from power plants to the grid.
