Taher Al-Baour, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Government of National Unity, discussed with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields on Wednesday.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also addressed the latest political developments in Libya and the efforts being made by the Government of National Unity to consolidate security and stability and advance sustainable development, in addition to its support for the efforts of the United Nations Mission in Libya.
They then exchanged views on the most significant developments on the regional and international stages, as well as discussing issues of mutual interest.
Areas of Cooperation Between Libya and the UK
The meeting addressed prospects for cooperation in the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of academic collaboration between the two countries, as well as ways to streamline visa procedures for citizens of both nations and resume direct flights between Libya and the United Kingdom, thereby contributing to enhanced communication and exchange between the two friendly nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening security and stability, and of adopting dialogue as a means to resolve disputes between states, in accordance with the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.
