On Monday morning, Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi participated in the proceedings of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, hosted by the Azerbaijani capital Baku, alongside a number of heads of state and government, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations.
The council’s media office stated that this session holds particular significance, as it marks the first time in the forum’s history that a “Leaders’ Summit” is being organized at the initiative of the Azerbaijani government.
The summit brings together heads of state and government and senior decision-makers from around the world to develop strategic visions for the future of cities, strengthen international cooperation in the fields of housing and urban development, and support countries’ commitment to implementing the New Urban Agenda.
The summit concludes with the issuance of a final document titled the “Baku Call to Action,” which includes a series of recommendations and initiatives aimed at developing sustainable urban policies and strengthening international partnerships to address challenges related to urban growth and comprehensive development.
