Mohamed Azim, Director of the Media Department at the Social Security Fund, said that the number of beneficiaries of the new increase approved by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, reached approximately 510,000 out of a total of 580,000 pensioners, representing nearly 90% of all pension recipients.

In a statement to Alwasat on Thursday, Azim explained that the increase is part of financial support for retirees and covers three categories based on monthly pension amounts.

He added that the first category, which receives a pension of 900 dinars, will receive financial support of 500 dinars, while the second category, which receives 1,200 dinars, will receive support of 400 dinars, and the third category will receive support of 300 dinars.

Two Decrees from Dabaiba to Support Retirees

Abdulhamid Dabaiba signed two new decrees on Wednesday aimed at improving the living conditions of beneficiaries in the social security and military sectors, as well as retirees, according to a government announcement.

In a statement broadcast on the “Our Government” platform, Dabaiba explained that the first decision includes an increase in pensions for beneficiaries of the social security and military sectors, while the second decision provides for direct financial support to retirees whose pension payments do not exceed 2,000 dinars.
