On Tuesday morning, Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi participated in the opening session of the Africa-France Summit, held under the theme “Africa Forward” in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The Council’s media office said in a statement that the summit comes amid rapid international momentum to reshape the nature of relations between the African continent and its international partners on more balanced and equitable grounds, thereby strengthening shared interests and opening new horizons for economic, trade, and investment cooperation, and cementing Africa’s presence as an active partner in the global economic equation and current geopolitical shifts.

It added that Libya’s participation demonstrates its commitment to strengthening its diplomatic and regional presence and actively engaging in international cooperation, in a manner that serves the priorities of stability and development and supports its efforts to build strategic partnerships based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The summit is seeing broad participation from African heads of state and government, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Yousif, and a number of leaders of international financial institutions and development partners.
