Belqasim Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, discussed with Randa Al-Menshawy, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of urban planning and city development.

The meeting, which brought the two parties together at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities in the New Administrative Capital in Cairo on Monday, discussed leveraging Egyptian expertise and companies to implement housing, road, and utility projects within Libyan cities, according to a post by the Fund on its Facebook page.

During the meeting, Al-Menshawy affirmed Egypt’s readiness to support development and reconstruction efforts in Libya and to transfer Egyptian expertise in implementing new cities and major national projects to the country. Belqasim Haftar, meanwhile, praised Egypt’s continued support for Libya, commending the efficiency of Egyptian companies and their role in implementing a number of development projects, with a view to expanding cooperation on several projects in the coming period.

Belqasim Haftar has been visiting Cairo since Sunday, where he met with General Intelligence Service Director Major General Hassan Rashad and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, with whom he discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
