Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh discussed arrangements for holding the Asian-African Parliamentary Conference in Benghazi with Saud Al-Hajilan, First Deputy Speaker of the Asian-African Parliamentary Assembly, and Faiz Al-Shawabkeh, Secretary-General of the Assembly.

Saleh affirmed that Benghazi is ready to host this major event and that all technical and logistical capabilities are available and will be harnessed to ensure the event’s success, particularly given the city’s security, stability, and ongoing construction and reconstruction efforts, according to a statement posted by House of Representatives spokesperson Abdullah Bliheg on his Facebook page.

The meeting discussed all details and preparations related to organizing the conference, which will be held in mid-June. Attendees emphasized the importance of the conference in strengthening cooperation between African and Asian parliaments, consolidating parliamentary partnerships, and expanding the horizons of joint cooperation among member states.
