The Chief of the General Staff of the General Command, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, discussed with the French Ambassador to Libya, Thierry Vallat, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in military and security matters, in a manner that serves mutual interests and contributes to regional stability.

The meeting, held at Khaled Haftar’s office at the Presidential Headquarters in the Rajma district of Benghazi on Monday, reviewed the latest developments on the local and international fronts, according to a post by the General Staff of the General Command on its Facebook page.

The General Staff stated that the French Ambassador praised the role of the General Command’s forces in maintaining security during the meeting, affirming his country’s support for efforts aimed at resolving the Libyan crisis and promoting stability.

The meeting comes a day after Vallat and his accompanying delegation met with the head of the General Command, Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
