The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy for the government appointed by the House of Representatives announced on Saturday that power had been restored to the Tabalino area in the city of Benghazi, following urgent repairs to the main 11 kV feeder No. 1105 after it suffered a sudden failure.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the ministry said this came after direct follow-up by the Technical Committee for the Stability of the Electrical Grid in Benghazi and its suburbs, with full support from the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund.
Detection and Resolution of the Malfunction
The Ministry explained that as soon as the report was received, technical teams moved to the site of the failure, where they began detection work using a test vehicle, and the location of the fault was accurately identified in record time.
The site was prepared, excavation work was carried out, and it was fully secured in accordance with approved technical procedures, in preparation for the start of maintenance work. The necessary connections and equipment were also provided so that the technical teams could carry out the repairs with high efficiency.
The Ministry of Electricity noted that after the maintenance work was completed, the necessary technical tests were conducted to ensure the feeder’s safety and operational readiness, which confirmed the success of the repair operation.
