The Red Crescent Society announced that a body was found on one of Tobruk’s beaches on late Sunday night.

Teams from the Tobruk branch went to the scene accompanied by the Search and Rescue Division of the General Directorate of Coastal Security, where the body was recovered and handled in accordance with established humanitarian and legal procedures, according to a statement by the Society on its Facebook page.

The Society stated that preliminary information suggests the body likely belongs to one of the irregular migrants who were aboard a boat that was recently rescued.
