Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the General Command, discussed developments in the political process in Libya with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, British Military Attaché Matt Ketterer, and their accompanying delegation.
The General Command’s media office stated that the meeting on Monday, in Benghazi, emphasized “the need to move the process forward, thereby contributing to the unification of institutions and preparing the country for general elections.”
At the start of the meeting, Haftar welcomed the visiting British delegation, emphasizing the depth of the historical ties and relations between the two countries, and the importance of strengthening and developing them in various fields.
The British ambassador expressed his admiration for the rapid urban development taking place in many cities and regions across Libya, coinciding with the upcoming opening of the “Libya Build 2026” exhibition in Benghazi and the broad participation of numerous international companies.
