During his meeting on Thursday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç, the President of the High Council of State, Muhammad Takala, discussed ways to overcome obstacles to the electoral process and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
The High Council of State stated on its Facebook page that the meeting included “a discussion of the latest developments regarding the political process and ways to overcome the obstacles facing the electoral process in order to achieve a democratic outcome that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people.”
It added that the meeting, held at the council's headquarters in Tripoli, also reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them across various fields, in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest aimed at serving the stability of the region.
On Thursday, Takala also received the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aganin, to discuss the latest political developments and the issue of the Arctic Metagaz gas tanker, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
