176 undocumented migrants deported via Benghazi's Benina International Airport

Abdulmoneim Zidan al-Qamati, director of the Security Media Office at the Department for Combating Illegal Immigration, announced the deportation of 176 undocmented migrants via Benina International Airport, as part of ongoing efforts to address irregular migration.

Al-Qamati explained in a statement to Alwasat that the deportation operation was carried out in accordance with instructions from the agency’s head, Salah Mahmoud Al-Khafifi, as part of a security plan aimed at curbing the phenomenon and promoting stability.

He noted that the operation included the deportation of 175 nationals of Bangladesh, including 113 migrants transferred from the agency’s Tripoli office as part of inter-branch cooperation, along with 62 migrants from the Greater Benghazi Shelter and Deportation Center.

They were returned to their home country via Benghazi's Benina International Airport in coordination with the International Organization for Migration.

He added that the operation also included the deportation of one Algerian national, who was transferred from the Greater Benghazi Shelter Center to his home country via the same port of entry.
