The Municipality of Zuwara has apologized to residents after some areas and neighborhoods experienced rainwater accumulation and traffic congestion that disrupted daily life. In a statement issued Wednesday, the municipality acknowledged that this situation caused inconvenience and hardship for residents, adding that the main reason for the delay in addressing these blockages was the theft of the cable supplying the main Station.
Municipality: Cable Theft Behind Zuwara Congestion
The statement described the theft as “regrettable behavior that hinders efforts to improve services, leading to the station’s shutdown and delays in maintenance and restarting operations until a replacement cable is supplied and installed.”
It noted the cooperation of the General Company for Water and Wastewater and the Zuwara Electricity Department teams in addressing bottlenecks and pumping out water, and working to restore conditions to normal as quickly as possible, pledging to ensure the continuity of essential services as required.
