The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced that it had carried out emergency maintenance on the electricity network west of Misrata.

Maintenance teams in the western Misrata district repaired the damage to the network before sunset on Monday, according to a statement posted on the company's Facebook page on Tuesday.

The statement noted that the work was completed in record time to ensure that electricity was restored to homes in the area.
