The Chief of General Staff appointed by the Presidential Council, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held an expanded meeting with military leaders on Sunday to discuss ways to address military salary issues. The meeting, held at the General Staff Headquarters in Tripoli, was attended by salary officers from the various branches of the armed forces, as well as brigades and units affiliated with the General Staff Headquarters, in the presence of the Secretary General of the General Staff Headquarters, Major General Adel Rahoma.
Issues related to military salaries
The General Staff said on its Facebook page that the meeting was devoted to “discussing military salaries and addressing related issues, as well as addressing the most prominent difficulties faced by some military personnel in obtaining their financial entitlements.”
It added that the meeting also discussed the situation of some units facing financial or administrative difficulties, in addition to working to create a financial and administrative environment to accommodate military academy graduates and integrate them into the military institution, and addressing the problem of duplication of work, thereby contributing to the organization of human resources and enhancing performance efficiency.
Coordination with the relevant authorities on military salaries
The General Staff explained that the meeting emphasized the need to coordinate with the relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Finance and the General Administration of Military Accounts, to find practical solutions that ensure the regular and timely payment of salaries.
It noted that this meeting comes within the framework of Al-Namroush's follow-up on the affairs of Libyan army personnel and efforts to improve their financial and administrative conditions, thereby enhancing job stability and raising the level of readiness within military units.
