The head of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh, discussed with British Ambassador to Libya Martin Reynolds ways in which the international community can support efforts to conduct elections in accordance with the highest technical and professional standards, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the democratic process and the consolidation of the principles of transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
During the meeting, Al-Sayeh reviewed the commission's preparations and technical and logistical plans for conducting the elections, stressing it's keenness to perform its duties with complete independence and impartiality, ensuring that voters can exercise their electoral rights in a safe and fair environment, according to a statement issued by the Commission.
For his part, the British ambassador expressed his “appreciation for the commission's efforts in managing and organizing the electoral process,” affirming his country's continued support ensure the success of the upcoming elections, thereby strengthening stability and the democratic process in Libya.
