The Deputy Commander of the General Command, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, met with the Commander of the US Africa Comman (AFRICOM), General Dagvin Anderson, on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich Security Conference (MSC 2026), according to an announcement by the General Command's media office on Sunday.
The media office said that Saddam Haftar's participation in the Munich Security Conference included a series of meetings with a number of officials, during which he held talks on the latest developments in Libya and ways to enhance cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
Meeting between Boulos and the commander of AFRICOM
On Saturday, the US president's senior advisor for African affairs, Massad Boulos, discussed with General Anderson, developments in the security situation in Libya and a number of issues related to peace and stability on the African continent.
In a post on his Twitter account, Boulos said that the meeting was held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where he described the discussions as “crucial” regarding “the challenges of peace and security in Libya and across the continent.”
The conference hosted more than 1,000 participants from about 115 countries, including about 60 heads of state and government, as well as leaders of international organizations such as the United Nations, NATO, and the European Union.
