An ambulance helicopter crashed inside Al-Sarra base in the south of the country while returning from a medical evacuation mission to rescue a soldier from the “Peace Brigade” after one of the brigade's vehicles was involved in a traffic accident.

Informed sources told Alwasat on Monday that the accident resulted in casualties among military personnel, in addition to the death of a nurse from the health sector who was assigned to work with the battalion.

No official statements have been issued so far explaining the causes of the accident or the final toll of victims, while the competent authorities have begun taking the necessary measures and opening an investigation to determine the circumstances.
