Three sources close to Saif al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi confirmed to Alwasat that he had been killed on Tuesday evening in the west of the country.

Details about the circumstances of the incident that claimed his life have not been fully disclosed but one of Saif al-Gaddafi's close associates described it as an “assassination.”

Additionally, Abdullah Othman, who was a member of the political team (2020-2021) and one of Saif Gaddafi's political advisers, wrote on his Facebook account: “We belong to God and to Him we return. The mujahid Saif al-Islam Gaddafi is in God's care.”

Mohammed Abdulmuttalib al-Huni, former advisor to Saif al-Islam Gaddafi during the Libya Tomorrow project, wrote on his Facebook page: “The hand of treachery has struck and assassinated a man who loved Libya and dreamed of its prosperity and renaissance. He is Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.”
