Tripoli's Mitiga International Airport announced the resumption of air traffic following an improvement in weather conditions and the return of visibility to safe levels, after a period of temporary closure due to bad weather and failure to meet air safety standards.

Earlier on Tuesday, the media office of Mitiga Airport announced the temporary closure of airspace to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crews until weather conditions improved.

The airport began receiving incoming flights and preparing for new departures, with an Oya Airlines flight arriving from Cairo Airport as the first flight after conditions improved.

A Taj Airlines flight also arrived at the airport from Cairo and is scheduled to depart later after completing preparations for a new trip to Alexandria Airport.
