Electricity Ministry: Power to be cut off in several areas within Benghazi on Saturday due to scheduled maintenance work

The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the government appointed by the House of Representatives announced that power will be cut off in some areas of Benghazi for six hours tomorrow morning, Saturday, to carry out maintenance and development work inside the 30/220 kV Al-Qawarsha station, as part of efforts to support the electricity grid and improve its efficiency.

The ministry explained in a statement that the work will include laying new cables for the Qanfuda feeders and inserting them into the cable basement ducts, which will require disconnecting a number of 30 kV stations for an estimated six hours.

Scheduled power outage at seven power stations

It indicated that the scheduled power outage will include the stations of Qanfuda, Tika, Jaroutha, the Old University, the New University, Qaryounis, and Old Qawarsha.

The Ministry of Electricity apologized to citizens for this temporary outage, stressing that these works are part of its plans to improve the efficiency of the electrical network and enhance the stability of the electrical current in the region.
