Hajj Authority: Libya's quota for this season is 7,800 pilgrims

The Hajj and Umrah Authority announced that the number of Libyan pilgrims scheduled to participate in this year's Hajj season is approximately 7,800.

Hatem Al-Lafi, spokesperson for the Hajj and Umrah Authority, said in a statement to Alwasat on Thursday that accommodation arrangements will include the central area in both Mecca and Medina, ensuring that the places of residence are close to the Two Holy Mosques.

Regarding air transportation, Al-Lafi explained that the airline for Libyan pilgrims has not yet been determined, nor has a final decision been made on the Libyan airports from which the flights will depart, noting that these procedures are still being followed up and coordinated.-

Last Monday, the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs announced the closure of registration for the Hajj season lottery for the year 1447 AH, corresponding to 2026 AD, confirming that the total number of registrants reached 1,513,818, an increase of 36% compared to last year.

Statistics showed that the number of male registrants reached 864,011, compared to 649,807 female registrants, confirming at the same time its readiness for the next stage related to sorting and processing data in preparation for the lottery.
