The head of Libya's Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, affirmed his "appreciation for Turkey's role in supporting stability in Libya, supporting international efforts to hold elections, and ending the transitional stages," according to his media office.
Dabaiba comments came after he received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his accompanying delegation at the Nasr Forest Halls complex in Tripoli on Wednesday.
Dabaiba's media office added that the meeting discussed several political and economic files and cooperation between the two countries.
His office added that Fidan conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Erdogan to Dabaiba and the Libyan people, and stressed the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries.
Fidan also stressed that his visit to Libya comes within the framework of unifying efforts between the two countries to coordinate efforts.
