A delegation from the European Union Commission arrived in Tripoli on Tuesday to discuss international cooperation regarding the fight against irregular migration.

The head of the General Directorate of Coastal Security, Major General Al-Bashir Belnour, accompanied by Brigadier General Hani Grimida, received the delegation at the Tripoli Sea Port.

A statement from Libya's Government of National Unity added that the delegation's agenda included a visit to the General Directorate of Coastal Security to see the technical and operational capabilities of the department.

On December 5, a technical delegation from the European Court of Auditors also visited Tripoli to assess the support provided to Libya in the fight against migration.
