The Minister of Social Affairs for Libya's Government of National Unity, Wafaa Al-Kilani, and the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Libya and Turkey "in the fields of social policy and social services," on Monday.

The signing of the agreement came after a bilateral meeting between the ministers in Ankara.

According to this agreement, Libya and Turkey will support studies related to the promotion of family and women's policies, the development of preventive services for children, the participation of individuals with disabilities in social life, the support of active aging, and the exchange of examples of good practices and experiences in these areas between the two countries.

After the signing of the MoU, Göktaş called for the need to work hard to enhance the structure of the family in order to protect children and families from global threats.

Göktaş stressed the importance of evaluating opportunities for cooperation with Libya "in support programs for the disabled, youth, the elderly, family, children and women" so that together the two countries can develop concrete projects by working together and helping Libya build its capacity in the fields of social services.
