The situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank topped the agenda of discussions between Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU) Acting Foreign Minister Taher al-Baour, and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.

The meeting between Al-Baour and Al-Maliki took place on the sidelines of the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda, which saw Libyan Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi officially join Libya with South Africa in the case before the International Court of Justice over the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

In his speech before the summit, Menfi also announced that Libya joined a second case against the violations and practices of the Zionist occupation in the Palestinian territories to be held in February. Menfi then called on the Non-Aligned Movement to adopt a unified position that supports the granting of Palestine full membership in the United Nations.

On Friday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has increased to 24,762, the majority of whom are women and children. The death toll is in addition to 62,108 individuals wounded.
