The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, reiterated the call on Saturday for "an immediate ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to reach Gaza."

This came during his reception of the Special Envoy of the Palestinian President and First Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Nabil Abu Rudeineh, in the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Libya, Mohammed Rahal, according to a statement by the council.

The Special Envoy conveyed the greetings of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, expressing his appreciation for the Libyan position towards the Palestinian cause, especially in all international meetings.

Dr. Abu Rudeineh presented a painting of Al-Aqsa Mosque in recognition of the role played by the State of Libya and Menfi in supporting the Palestinian cause.
