Aguila Saleh discusses strengthening bilateral relations with Turkish President Erdogan in Ankara

The Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, met on Wednesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss "a number of political files and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries."

During the meeting, Aguila affirmed the House of Representatives' position on the formation of a new government tasked with overseeing the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections, according to a statement issued by his media office.

Saleh also praised Turkey's stand with Libya after Storm Daniel flooding in September, as well as its position in support of the Palestinian cause.

The meeting was held at the Turkish presidential headquarters in Ankara, in the presence of the Speaker of the Turkish House of Representatives, Numan Kurtulmuş.

Saleh arrived in Turkey earlier in the day at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
