The Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Authority announced that it was close to completing a new water network for 700 houses in the city of Awjilah, as part of the "Return to Life" plan launched by the Government of National Unity.

Hassan Mohammed Bilal, director of the agency's office in the Awjilah, tells Alwasat that the project aims to improve water access for homes that rely on random connections or have to transport water supplies individually.

Bilal added that the project includes the implementation of main transmission lines with a length of 11 kilometers and a diameter of 200 mm, to deliver water to 5 main reservoirs distributed over the city's neighborhoods.

He noted that this comes in addition to the seperate implementation of internal water networks with a length of 20 kilometers and a diameter of 110 and 160 mm.

The projects combine to cover the needs of about 700 homes.

He stressed that the project came in coordination with the water company, the Awjilah Municipal Council, and elders in the city, to "ensure smooth and high-quality workflow".
