The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the start of maintenance works on the Azizyat-Tamimi overhead power transmission line (voltage 66 kV) in coordination with the General Administration of Medium Voltage Networks, according to a statement on Sunday.
GECOL added that the maintenance work included the dismantling and installation of a number of new towers located on the route.
Last September, the Al-Bumba-Aziziyat power transmission began operating after the completion of maintenance work. The company explained, in a statement, that its teams were able to lay wires and install new tower arms due to warping from heavy rains and storms in the eastern region.
