The head of Libya's High Council of State, Muhammad Takala, discussed reconstruction programs in Libya during a meeting with a number of US officials and representatives of international financial institutions.

Takala, who is currently visiting Washington with a delegation from the council, discussed ways to support the reconstruction program for Derna and neighboring areas affected by Storm Daniel, during his meeting with the Executive Director of the World Bank, Tauqir Shah and Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bahador Bijani, according to a statement.

He also held a meeting with United States Agency for International Development officials to "promote development and reconstruction in the country, and in the southern regions in particular".

The meeting also reviewed several projects across Libya aimed at strengthening infrastructure and supporting stability in the country.
