The Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of the Congo briefed Libyan Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi on the results of the preparatory meeting for the National Reconciliation Conference held recently in Benghazi.

The briefing came after Menfi received Foreign Minister Jean-Claude Gakosso and African Union Adviser for National Reconciliation, Mohamed Hassan Al-Labbad, at Presidential Council headquarters in Tripoli on Wednesday.

Menfi's media office said that Gakosso also praised efforts in laying the foundations of reconciliation and stability in Libya.

For his part, Menfi stressed that "reconciliation is a comprehensive national path and is the right path to heals the wounds left by conflict, with the aim of turning the page on the past and overcoming the causes of disagreement, division and achieving restorative justice away from revenge".
