UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily presented the UN mission's initiative to be launched in the coming period during a phone call with the head of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, on Sunday, according to a statement issued by the council.

Takala and Bathily's call came a few days after the head of the High Council of State met with House of Representatives Speaker Aguila Saleh in Cairo.

Takala and Saleh agreed to "continuous consultation on the political crisis to reach a Libyan-Libyan solution that achieves the aspirations and interests of the Libyan people," during that meeting.
