A patrol from the General Directorate of Coastal Security in Sirte was able to intercept a migrant boat carrying 38 individuals off the coast of the city on Tuesday.

The patrol found the boat carrying 38 Egyptian and Bangladeshi migrants about 20 miles from Sirte according to a statement by the Government of National Unity's Interior.

The statement pointed to taking legal measures regarding the incident and referring the migrants to the Department for Combating Illegal Migration.
