The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that the total number of migrants in Libya reached 704,369 people, 79% of whom were men, 11% women and 10% children.
This came in a report issued on Friday by the organization, based on a questionnaires gathered in May and June.
The questionnaires monitor information about migrants, including data on their flow, according to the organization's office in Libya.
53% of the migrants were concentrated in the western region, 34% in the eastern region and 13% in the southern region.
IOM added that the average cost of a trip to Libya is $863 per migrant.
The organization pointed out that 25% of the migrants have Nigerien nationality, 24% from Egypt, 18% from Sudan, 11% from Chad and 4% from Nigeria. The unemployment rate among them is currently at 23%.
