The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the return of service to new areas in the city of Derna as maintenance work continues on the network damaged by Storm Daniel.

Maintenance teams also restored power to homes in the Jubailah neighborhood after the completion of repair work, according to a company statement on Monday.

The maintenance work included digging and laying cables, maintaining main distribution boxes, in addition to tightening aerial wires in order to restore power to residential areas.
