Italian security sources announced the arrival of 35 irregular immigrants to the Sicilian island of Lampedusa, most of them Syrians, who "told rescuers that they left the Libyan city of Zuwara last night."

An Italian coast guard patrol boat rescued the 35 individuals, while "the boat used for the crossing, made of fiberglass and about 7 meters long," was seized, according to Italian news agency AKI.

According to AKI, three migrant boats arrived in Lampedusa on Friday.
