China has provided 90 tons of humanitarian aid to support those affected in areas affected by floods that swept through eastern Libya two weeks ago, causing heavy loss of life and property.

On Sunday, a Chinese cargo plane "loaded with disaster relief materials weighing 90 tons and worth 30 million Chinese yuan" arrived at Benina International Airport in Benghazi, which was received by the Libyan Red Crescent Society, according to the Chinese embassy in Libya.

The embassy stressed in a press statement that the Chinese government's donation came within the framework of solidarity with the Libyan people during this difficult moment and after the unprecedented floods that swept the eastern regions of Libya, wishing "Libya a better tomorrow, and long friendship with China."

This comes within the framework of widespread international solidarity with Libya after the largest disaster in the country's history.
