Libya's parliament-appointed Prime Minister Osama Hammad and Turkish Ambassador to Libya Kanan Yilmaz visited the city of Derna to determine the extent of the damage caused by Storm Daniel onThursday.

Hammad and Yilmaz inspected the Turkish field hospital in the city and discussed during efforts by Turkish rescue teams and their role in search operations and recovery of victims during the tour, according to a government statement.

Hammad praised the support provided by the Turkish rescue teams since their arrival in Derna, and their contribution to saving the lives of many people from under the rubble of buildings destroyed by floods.

On Wednesday, Hammad discussed the reconstruction of Derna and its suburbs with a number of representatives of Egyptian companies in Libya.
