Algerian rescue teams recover 61 bodies in Derna on Tuesday

The Algerian Civil Protection Service announced the recovery of 198 bodies since the beginning of its work as part of its solidarity mission in the city of Derna following the devastating floods that hit eastern Libya.

It added in a statement that 61 of the bodies were recovered on Tuesday.

The Algerian teams consist of 113 members of various ranks and specialties, including divers teams, disaster medicine medical teams, operations management teams, search and rescue teams, sinotechnical teams, logistics teams, and psychologists.

According to the Libyan Ministry of Health, the death toll in Derna has reached nearly 4,000 people as of Monday, in addition to thousands still missing.
