Libya's Parliament-appointed Prime Minister, Osama Hammad, decided on Monday to dismiss the Derna Municipal Council and refer all its members for investigation, according to Wtv.

Earlier on Monday, the Derna residents demonstrated and demanded the assignment of a municipal council consisting of qualified and competent people from the city.

Last Thursday, the Minister of Local Government in Hammad's government issued a decision to dismiss the mayor of Derna municipality Abdel Moneim Al-Ghaithi and referred him for investigation, while assigning municipal council member Ahmed Juma Emdawar to conduct the tasks of the municipality.
